Geta Tap
|
Geta Tap has roots in the Kabuki theater, combining traditional Japanese wooden sandals with contemporary dance rhythms.
However, unlike Kabuki, where movements are slow and deliberate, Geta Tap is energetic and spirited.
Barbara Uemura, a Sensei raised in Los Angeles, created the updated version of this unique dance from in 1997 when she began teaching it in Kagoshima Japan.
